The SoapBox

The SoapBox Gallery is a space created to give artists the opportunity to speak publicly, spontaneously, seriously, casually. Like all of the other incarnations of The IMA Gallery, it is a mobile place that challenges the notions of “audience” and “gallery.” Though similar to the others, this space is unique in that it is host to many collaborators (other IMA Gallery spaces are designed specifically for the work of one artist-collaborator). The only requisite for participating in the lecture series is that the participant must be in The IMA Gallery, meaning they must keep one foot (or other limb) in the gallery during the lecture or performance.
